Happy Mail!

Hi there Magpies, Philippa back with you today sharing two more projects using the Horizon collection by Paige Evans for Pink Paislee. My first layout documents a recent Happy Mail swap I took part in, Paper 22 was perfect!

I started by fussy cutting all the little envelopes and postage stamps. Initially I chose a dark blue cardstock background but it wasn’t working for me so I swapped to a white background mounted on a sheet of Paper 11

I added some handwriting on a few of the cards for realism!!

A friend took the photo of me dropping my envelope into the postbox much to the amusement of passers by I’m sure! I liked the idea of my colourful decorated envelope being tossed around in the system so I chose to position the little envelopes and stamps cascading down the page. I layered my photo on paper from the 6×8 Paper Pad and added some tags and red and white thread.

The word Happy and the suitcase stack came from theChipboard Phrase and Icon sheet. I love how Paige’s collections all work together and I found the pens and pencils on Paper 6 of her Whimsical collection. A few splatters and my layout was complete! I loved taking part in the Happy Mail swap and in return I received a gorgeous package of handmade bits and pieces from the person I was matched with.

For my second project I decided to make a few cards with some left over bits and pieces. It really brightens my day when I receive a card through the post, sent to me for no other reason than that one of my friends thought it would be a nice thing to do.

I started my adding some water colour stripes to my blank cards in colours complementing the Horizon collection. I then matched a few ephemera die cuts that were left over from other projects.

I added three flower stamps on each card using Distress Oxide inks and a stamp from the Horizon stamp set

I chose to cut around the flowers and then added various embellishments, mindful that they would be going to be sent in the post and I didn’t want them squashed! They were simple and easy to make and ideal for quick notes to friends.

Some of the items I’ve used are currently out of stock but hopefully they will be restocked in the future.

I’ll be back next month with more ideas using a new collection!

Until then Happy Scrapping!
