Happy Mail | Sweet Talk | Simple Stories by Morag Cutts
Hi there friends. This month I have been creating with the Sweet Talk collection by Simple Stories. It is a wonderful mix of colours and cute elements. Just up my street. Today I have two projects to share with you – a layout and a loaded pocket. Read on to find out more.
Happy Day Mail
I am a bit of a sucker for stationery and envelopes – they always remind me of my little post office I had as a child. So I really went to town with the whole post idea on this layout. I cut out a postage style frame on my Silhouette and backed it with pink cardstock. This was placed over the lovely You’re my Type paper.
I made an envelope from the Love Is paper but didn’t stick down all the edges. This left a tuck in spot for my photo. I filled the envelope with tags and other ephemera including my journaling.
I added stickers from the 12X12 Cardstock sticker sheet and Foam Stickers. I even added some old postage stamps from my stash.
The mailbox was cut on the Silhouette from kraft cardstock which I decorated with fussy cut elements. I love how this layout turned out – one of my favourite layouts ever!
Loaded Gift Pocket
In this project I created a pocket from patterned paper – 2×2 Elements. To create individual pockets I added additional angled layers (I Adore You, Love Is) – perfect for stuffing with small gifts and cards. I glued small pom pom trim to the reverse of each pocket which helps to define them.
To decorate the main pocket I’ve used a mixture of 12X12 Cardstock stickers and fussy cut elements.
Decorated tags made from the Sweet Talk Tag sheet are tucked into the pockets here and there.
You can see that it’s large enough for a large bar of chocolate and also a face mask but you could also tuck in gift cards, letters, etc.
I also made a simple rosette topper which is mounted onto a pretty paper drinking straw. You can really go to town with your goodies or keep it simple – it makes a fabulous gift for a friend or loved one.
I hope that I’ve inpsired you to take a look at this very sweet collection – it is so versatile.
This is my last post for Hey Little Magpie. It has been a real pleasure being part of such a wonderful shop and amazing design team. I’ll continue to hang out in the Facebook group and online (you can find me as @Cropkat).
Thank you so much for taking the time to pop in. Happy crafting!
