Happy Little Moments
Hi magpies, Julie back with you today sharing 4 layouts I’ve done using the new collections from Elle’s Studio & Websters Pages.
First up I worked with Elle’s Studio ‘Little Moments’, I’ve always loved Elle’s Studio collections, the soft colour palette, the abundance of labels & the added ephemera of wood veneer & cork, great for a scrapper like me who loves to add lots bits. My first layout doesn’t really have one title, more like lots of small titles from the stamping down the one side. I used the pink paper with a white heart on it, out of the set of 6 papers, as my background & offset it against a black & white striped paper from my stash. I cut up the Jonah labels, cutouts, bits of the highlights paper & word labels & added them all to the left hand side of the page, sewing them down to adhere them. I then used the story of stamp set to add lots of stamping on each of the labels.
I made a photo cluster out of papers from the 6×6 paper pack & added that to the bottom right of the page, adding a few more strips of papers below it. I finished the page with the date, a wood veneer piece & a fab exclusive Hey Little Magpie flair badge.
My second layout ‘Happy Little Moments’ using this collection is loosely based on a grid design. The background paper is my favourite paper (that’s the name!) which I highlighted some of the words with gelatoes. I ripped the bottom edge & added the blue spot, which is the B side of my favorite paper, & another piece to the top. I choose 4 journaling cards from the highlights paper & put them in a grid on my page & sewed a messy border around the edge of them. I then embellished them using the cutouts, word labels & some wood veneer. I cut out a few different sized hearts & scattered those around the page, added another exclusive Hey Little Magpie flair badge & my title at the bottom
Moving on to Websters Pages ‘Painted Passport’. When I first ordered this collection I thought it was going to be a travel based one but it really isn’t, it does have a few references towards travel but on the whole it’s quite generic, saying that my first layout using it is a travel one!!! ‘Big Apple Adventure’ is just what it says, a layout about our trip to New York. We took Soooo many photos on this trip but I wanted a large photo to add impact, so went with a skyline one, which I printed out A4. I cut the big apple out on my silhouette & used the photo for the top bit & Proof of Travel paper for the bottom half. I then cut some bits out of the places to go paper & layered them up with some sentiments stickers, tags & prompts & some bits from the 12×12 sticker sheet.
My final layout was a bit of a labour of love & nearly went in the bin a few times but glad I persevered as I think it’s now one of my faves. ‘Free Spirit’ uses the beautiful blue, on the B side of the places to go paper, coupled with the life is good paper. I adhered those together & added a few splatters of gold color shine. I found this beautiful feather cut on the silhouette site & cut it out on white cardstock, which I then inked, embossed, stitched, backed & splattered & I added it to the page in a vertical line covering the join between the two papers. I cut 3 of the birds out from the B side of travellers paper & a couple of the feathers. I added 2 of the birds to the feather die cut & the remaining one to the photo which I placed going off the page on the bottom right. To that I added a few of the sentiments off the sticker sheet previously mentioned. For my title I used gold thickers from my stash & that gorgeous blue tile alpha off the 12×12 sticker sheet.
Thank you for joining me today & I’ll be back with you soon xoxo
