Happy Hour Scrapbook Layout – Simple Stories – Pink Lemonade – Wendy Meffan

Vacation memories are always sweeter when they involve sunshine and a colourful drink in hand, and this layout using the Simple Stories Pink Lemonade Collection perfectly captures a happy hour Hurricane cocktail enjoyed in Aruba. The playful mix of pinks, blues, and sunny yellows in this collection mirrors the vibrant layers of the drink itself and instantly sets a tropical tone.

For this page, I created a split level layout to add movement and visual interest. The photos are anchored along the bottom portion of the page, forming a strong foundation. These snapshots of that bright, fruity Hurricane cocktail at happy hour bring all the island vibes back in an instant. By keeping the photos grouped at the base, I was able to build upward with embellishments and create a natural flow for the eye.

Clusters surround the photos at the sides, featuring florals, small icons, and sweet phrase stickers from the collection. I layered pieces with foam adhesive to add dimension and tucked elements slightly under the photo edges to create depth. The pink and coral tones echo the cocktail’s vibrant colour, while pops of yellow add a fresh citrus feel.

Above the photos, I designed a large statement cluster that draws the eye upward and balances the page. This oversized grouping includes layered florals, tags, and a  title element, making it the perfect focal point to highlight the happy hour theme.

To tie everything together, I used a stencil behind all the layers with Distress Oxides. Soft blended color peeks out from beneath the photos and embellishments, adding texture and cohesion without overwhelming the design. The result is a bright, dimensional layout that beautifully documents a fun Aruba happy hour moment.
