Happy Days
Hello there Magpies, Julie back with you today, sharing 2 layouts using the new Happy Days collection from My Minds Eye. It really does conjure up happy days with a beautiful colour palette & some crazy icons of eyes, cactus & chickens!!!! Chickens are yet to be used, I’m saving those for the right project LOL.
Yeah
I first added a bit of turquoise paint, onto some Vicki Boutin foundation paper, & scraped it over using an old credit card & added a few splatters. There were a few circle elements, in the mixed bag die cuts, so I added those around the page along with some stencilling. I cut a few scalloped pieces, from the ice-cream dreams paper & sewed those around the page, sitting my title on one of them. My photo was added to some paper layers & adhered to the bottom right, of the page, adding some die cuts & chipboard to the bottom. I stamped a few sayings, from the Heidi Swapp colour fresh clear stamp set & finished off by sewing the whole page to the cheery disposition paper ( even the names make you happy )
Seriously Awesome New Door
Strange title, you may think?? But I went with the words that were available & adored the house elements in this collection & having just had a new front door thought… perfect!!
I stared by smooching a bit of mustard seed oxide ink onto the background & stencilled over the top with peacock feathers & then drew around a few of the circles. I hand cut 5 scalloped pieces & added them down the page, sewing them into place, giving me a anchor for my 3 element clusters. I fussy cut the houses, from the Ice-cream dreams paper & added those, along with a chipboard one, to my clusters. stamping, from the Heidi Swapp colour fresh stamp set, some fussy cut & stitched clouds & a few more die cut pieces finished the page.
Thanks for taking the time to pop by today & I hope you have enjoyed my take on this collection. I’ll be back at the end of the month with some more layouts
