Happy Days | Julie Taylor
Hello Magpies.
Can you believe it’s a new year? Hope you have lots of scrappy adventures planned. I want to get more organised but don’t hold me to it as I’ve managed thus far being totally disorganised!!!
This month I’ve been using the new collection Noteworthy from Simple Stories. It’s a monthly/ yearly collection, with months & stationary featuring heavily but once cut apart these make great icons & ephemera to use on pages & cards.
Those fab chipboard glasses frame was the inspiration behind this layout. When I saw them, in the store, & thought they’d be the perfect starting point for these crazy photos of my fur baby.
I added some splatters of Mustard Seed & Salvaged Patina oxide inks, to the top right & bottom left of some white cardstock & added a piece of 6×8 patterned paper from the paper pad, centrally after distressing the sides & adding some black twine around it. I backed the chipboard glasses with some vellum & then a different piece of patterned paper & added to the top of the 6×8 piece, they sat perfectly for the size of the paper.
I backed my photos, with more patterned papers & added them at the bottom of the page, tucking in lots of the ephemera around them die cuts, chipboard stickers & fussy cut pieces.
I also added a few bits from the exclusive Hey Little Magpie Bits & Pieces collections. I love these bits & add to all my layouts & I’ve cut a view reel using the Hey Little Magpie metal die, using patterned paper & backing it with black cardstock.
My title comes from the 6×12 foam stickers, loads to choose from on that sheet!!
Thanks for joining me today & I’ll be back soon with another layout using this collection.
Until next time,
