#Happy Cottage Living with a splash of Gold

Hello everyone I hope you have been enjoying the last days of Summer before the Autumn nights set in.  I have been enjoying the nicer weather and spending time organising and printing photos from my recent holiday so I can begin working on the albums.  Whilst looking through older pages I realised I had a bit of a love affair with coral last year and I really like how it looked on pages so I decided to look at what was in the shop and had lovely coral tones.  I was drawn to the Pebbles Jen Hadfield Cottage Living collection, the coral and pink tones mixed with pops of black drew me in.  I then ventured over to the Websters Pages #Happy collection and picked a few other tones that would work well.  I made myself up a kit and set about making as many pages as I could, I came up with 5 in total.
My kit consisted of the follow supplies:
Jen Hadfield – Country Living – 6×6 Paper Pad
Jen Hadfield – Country Living – Dotted Blossoms Paper
Jen Hadfield – Country Living – Gallery Wall Paper
Jen Hadfield – Country Living – Love Notes Paper
Jen Hadfield – Country Living – Sunrise Sunset Paper
Jen Hadfield – Country Living – Gold Circle Stickers
Jen Hadfield – Country Living – Gold Dipped Tags
Jen Hadfield – Country Living – Puffy Phrase Stickers
Websters Pages – #Happy – Good Stuff Paper
Websters Pages – #Happy – Stargazing Paper
Websters Pages – #Happy – Storyteller #1
Websters Pages – #Happy – True Blue Paper
Websters Pages – #Happy – Tags and Prompt Stickers
Websters Pages – #Happy – Sentiments 4×6 Sticker Sheet
Websters Pages – #Happy – Alpha and Shapes Sticker Sheet
Websters Pages – These are the Days – Essential Lines Paper (This is a substitute as the bokeh paper from the #Happy collection has sold out in the single sheets but is available in the collection pack)
I pulled in a few letter stickers wood veneer and sequins from my own stash.  I also used dies and flair which can be found in the shop.

My first page I created was using the lovely ombre paper from Jen Hadfield,  I love how the gold compliments the corals of the papers and the pops of black brings it all together.

The gold dipped tags make a perfect space for journalling as well as being a great base for clusters.  I have a video for this page up on my YouTube Channel today.

The next page was the first one I have made for my travel album, and I picked the colours form the tones on the photo.  I like how the #Happy pages have a printed gold/glitter effect rather than foiling, it adds a different texture.  I did add some sparkle over the top to give it a bit of shimmer.

I used my dies to cut the planes from the 6×6 papers and layered these over the Jen Hadfield- Gold Circle Stickers and make my own flairs

The #Happy Stargazer paper was one of them papers that I could have easily kept in my stash and just got out and stroked every so often, but I challenged myself to use it with one of my favourite photos of my trip.

I used several elements form the cut-a-part sheets to create embellishments for this pages, one of the 4×4 cards also made a great start of my title.  I used a few stickers from the Crate Paper Journey Collection.

The finial two pages I created were using the Gallery Wall paper, I am always drawn to papers with frames on as they are so versatile.  In this case I cut the frame out to base my photo clusters on.  I also fussy cut the flower paper out to make my own embellishments.  The frames are also great on the 6×6 paper size too.

I went with a  background paper that was bold and would help my clusters stand out.  The small circular tabs made a great base for my embellishments.

For my final page this month I decided to use up the remainder of the frames, before they were forgotten in my stash, I decided to do a bit of mixed media on this page to change the look of the frames up.   I just used gesso through a couple of stencils to create some background texture on top of the beautiful bokeh paper.

I really wanted the photo to stnad out so I mixed media clusters really create contrast aginst the background.  I would say this is my favourite of the bunch, and I must do some more mixed media soon.
As I mentioned I will have process videos for all of these over on my YouTube channel over the next week, and I would love for you to come and stop by and say hi.  I hope you all have a wonderful September and enjoy playing with all the wonderful new goodies that are arriving in the shop.
See you next month
