Groovy Darlin’ | Julie Taylor

Hello Magpies,

Julie with you today & I’m using the gorgeous new collection from Jen Hadfield called Groovy Darlin’. It has a real retro vibe to it with colourful but muted tones.

I wanted to use a dark background, for this page, & loved the blue of the ‘Denim’ paper but didn’t want the extra flowers with the stripe. So I cut it out & added it to a sheet of cardstock from the 49 and Market Summer Porch 12×12 solids collection pack, tucking in some pompom trim at the top & machine sewing the bottom into place.

I used 2 of the same photo, one colour & one black & white & added them top left tucking in a die cut view master reel, using the exclusive Hey Little Magpie die, some ephemera & a tag.

The title is made up from word stickers in the sticker book, out the collection & Stamped & die cut alphas using the exclusive ‘James” stamps & dies.

I added a few die cut splats & the roller-skates were perfect to go with my title!!

The fabric one is out my own stash & the colours went perfectly!! A few splatters of white acrylic paint & some matte enamel dots, in the centre of the flowers,  finished the layout.

Thanks for joining me today.

Until next time,
