Groovy Darlin’ | Julie Taylor
Hello Magpies
Are any of you Swifties? or have teens that are? My daughter was lucky to go & see her, while she was in Australia & not sure if you know but there’s this big thing about making friendship bracelets & sharing them while at the concert, so making friends with those around you!! What a great idea. Well my daughter made loads & this page is all about that.
The Jen Hadfield Groovy Darlin collection is just perfect for concert pages or festivals, etc as it has an eclectic mix of music icons, disco balls & the odd cowboy boot, just perfect for Taylor Swift!!
I went with a loose vertical style & added some Mustard Seed oxide ink in 3 areas which I then stencilled over with Stampers Anonymous sparkle stencil in Kitsch Flamingo oxide ink & I added a bit of stamping using the exclusive Hey Little Magpie stamps, life captured & this currently, perfect to add interest to my background.
I used 2 photos, one, landscape, of them at the concert & another, portrait, of my daughter wearing her bracelets & I added these on patterned paper, from the 6×8 paper pack to the top & bottom of the page & embellished around them, adding in paperie pieces, die cuts & stickers.
I die cut some strips using the Hey Little Magpie Large Doodle Border & notebook & torn paper border & layered these across the centre, with bits of ephemera & trim, this gave me an area to add my title onto which I made up using some of the beads that she’d used to make the bracelets & a couple of charms my daughter had got.
I have LOVED doing this page & so glad I have this memory captured in their album.
Thanks for joining me today.
Until next time,
