Grateful Heart and Hello Bob | Revisiting Paige Evans Truly Grateful | Niki Rowland

Hey everyone, Niki @nikiclaire, back here with you today sharing two more layouts I made after revisiting the Paige Evans Truly Grateful Collection.

I’ve really enjoyed revisiting this collection, even though I’ve used it before, there was plenty left I hadn’t used yet and I still had plenty of leftover Autumn photos I hadn’t scrapped yet.

I had the 12×12 papers, the Speciality paper, the Wooden Buttons, the Puffy Stickers and the ephemera to use today.

For my first layout today I used that beautiful leaf rainbow paper. I did consider (for about 1 minute) fussy cutting all those leaves out but in the end I decided to showcase the paper in a different way. I cut it into a quirky triangle design and mounted the points on another piece of paper, and then arranged these onto a white background.

I added my photos in a block on the left side of the page together with some layers and paper strips. I also created an embellishment cluster here consisting of the ephemera and wooden buttons. To the right of the photos I added my title ‘start with a grateful heart’ which was from the ephemera.

Over on the right side of the page, I added another triangle but this time of the leftover Speciality paper I had. I also created an embellishment cluster here to balance out the layout. I am really in love with the super cute little puffy stickers in this collection, they are quite small so are great for adding variety and filling little gaps within clusters.

For my second layout I had these funny photos of my children carving a pumpkin. There’s a funny story behind these photos becuase someone STOLE our pumpkin! So it was great to get this story documented.

I loved that triangle paper so wanted this to be a large portion of my layout. I therefore was guided by the lines and added some white to a section in the middle of the layout. I machine stitched all around it and also added stitching to the other lines on the paper too.

The white space gave me somewhere to put my photos, title and embellishments as it gave some separation from the busy paper. I added the title from the Ephemera and added the word ‘Bob’ using Thickers, and R.I.P. at the bottom in the same Thickers.

I finished off this layout with gold thread and gold splatters to bring in the gold from the collection. I also wrote in my journaling under my title.

I was a little unenthused about using this collection at first but I really wanted to finish off my Autumn photos so I embraced the challenge – it wasn’t difficult at all and I have made layouts I absolutely love. Sometimes the previous collections can get cast aside when the new ones come out but I’m so glad I had the chance to re-visit Paige Evans’ Truly Grateful as I thoroughly enjoyed creating with it.

Thank you so much for joining me today. Check out the Truly Grateful collection in the shop

Happy scrapping xxx
