GRADUATION – COCOA VANILLA – THESE DAYS – WENDY MEFFAN

Hi there Magpies! September is here already and I’m back on the blog using the gorgeous These Days Collection by Cocoa Vanilla. I love all the pastel colours in this collection.

For my first layout I made a mixed media background using distress oxides. I then used the rainbow striped 12×12 Family Ties paper and tore it to make a large header at the top and a slim one along the bottom of the layout. I used the reverse to add a second layer under the top layer. I used a pocket card to matt the photo and used the little moments of joy pocket card as the words were perfect.

I fussy cut the books and the envelope with flowers again from the pocket cards, along with the floral blue frame which I matted with paper from the 12×12 Home Grown paper. I raised the backing on sticky fixers to give some dimension and added the books on top. I used the puffy alpha stickers to place Graduation title in the frame.

I fussy cut the type writer again from the pocket cards and then tucked in some of the floral ephemera around the photo and the pocket card.

Finally I added some of the wood epoxy buttons, a puffy sticker and some white paint splatters over the layout.

Layout 2

For this layout I wanted to use some of the black and white elements from the collection.I chose plain white card which I cut down and used the 12×12 Take Flight paper on the B side which I gutted to create a border. I then machine stitched around the edge of the white card.

I used the black and white checked pocket card to offset the photo against, I distressed the edges and machine stitched around the card, then I placed the photo at an angle over it raised on sticky fixers.

I cut up the 12×12 The Good Life paper into all its elements and then used the long heart strip and several of the word strips, I distressed the edges on all of them. I positioned them above and below the photo and added the long heart strip underneath.

I distressed the edges of some of the floral ephemera and added it around the layout and finished off with some of the epoxy wood buttons.

I then added a few white paint splatters.

I really enjoyed creating these layouts and hope they have given you some inspiration. We love to see your layouts so please do post them on the Hey Little Magpie Chat and Inspiration Page.

Till next month …. Happy Scrapping
