Good Times Scrapbook Layout – Simple Stories – Pink Lemonade – Wendy Meffan

There’s nothing better than turning vacation memories into a bright, story-filled scrapbook page, and the Simple Stories Pink Lemonade Collection was the perfect choice for documenting our walk around the Renaissance Marina in Oranjestad. The cheerful green and  sunny yellows, and fresh patterns in this collection beautifully capture the relaxed island atmosphere.

This layout features a horizontal strip of four photos running across the centre of the page. The photos highlight moments from our stroll along the marina — and passing the iconic 5 O’Clock Somewhere Bar. Arranging the photos in a single row keeps the design clean and allows the story to unfold naturally from left to right, just like our walk did that morning..

To anchor the photo strip, I created layered vertical strips of patterned papers behind it, focusing on designs that complement the marina colours without overpowering the images. I then added embellishment clusters around the photo row, using floral ephemera, chipboard stickers, and small phrase stickers from the collection. These clusters help frame the photos while adding pops of pink and yellow that keep the page feeling cohesive and vibrant.

For a unique design element, I incorporated a vertical border using a lemon stencil and Distress Oxides. Blending soft yellow tones through the stencil created a subtle yet eye-catching detail along one side of the page. This extra vertical element balances the strong horizontal photo strip and ties beautifully into the citrus theme of the collection.

The result is a fresh, summery layout that perfectly captures the laid-back charm of an evening walk through Oranjestad — a simple memory made special through thoughtful design and bright, happy colour.
