Good Day Sunshine!

Well we’ve certainly been fortunate this last week to have seen so much of the sunshine and I have got the perfect summer collection to share with you, Echo Park’s ‘Good Day Sunshine’ collection. It has a lovely retro vibe with bikes, caravans, swimsuits, ice creams and much more.
Here’s a picture of the bits & pieces of the collection I chose to work with…

Everything is so pretty, the papers are lovely, I’m definitely going to buy more of the 12 x 12″ size and those chipboard pieces are my fave, the images are so cute! You can the whole collection here. The only thing missing is a set of alphas, but I got around it, you can see how below.

For my first layout I searched for a summer cut file and found this one free at LoveSVG.com , I backed it with ‘Sunny Day‘ paper.

I added my photo on a stack of papers trimmed down from the 6 x 6″ paper pad and embellished the layout with chipboard pieces from the ‘Accent’ pack and the ‘Phrase’ pack, plus a from the sticker sheet and some enamel dots.

My second layout focuses on the floral stickers and the pretty chipboard bike for a layout about a family bike ride last weekend.

My main paper was the b-side of the ‘Festive Floral’ paper and I added strips of the dark blue and red papers from the 6 x 6″ paper pad, hiding the joins behind the chipboard pieces.

The long word strip banner comes from the ‘Border Strips’ paper. I used some older Dear Lizzy light gold glitter thickers for the title and a luggage tag, both from my stash.

Layout three is a snap from our holiday in Tenerife back in April where we enjoyed summer like temperatures. We visited a waterpark several times during that week, hence the use of all the swimsuits and shorts!

I mixed chipboard pieces and stickers, popping some of the stickers up on foam pads for extra height. I love the retro styled swimsuits in this collection, definitely my kind of swimsuit!

My title for this layout is one of the chipboard phrase stickers which is raised up on a chipboard frame to give it greater emphasis.

My final layout features the ice creams chipboard pieces and a photo from the last bank holiday weekend of our mid bike ride ice cream treat.

It’s a lot simpler than the last layout! I made a stack of papers for the paper mat from the 6 x 6″ paper pad and added a strip from the ‘border strips’ paper along the bottom.

I pulled the ‘Hello’ from the Dear Lizzy ‘Stay Colorful’ collection, the thickers from the Shimelle ‘Box of Crayons’ collection and the journaling tabs are Elle’s Studio from my stash.
Remember there’s still time to enter the National Scrapbook Day challenges over on our facebook group, closing date is midnght Sunday 13th May. My first layout fits the challenge set by DT member Sam Ball ‘Stitching & Big Title’. I do love a bit of stitching on layouts!
