Going Places by Morag Cutts | Vintage Coastal | Simple Stories
Hey there friends. As I write this post, things have definitely turned tropical around here with temperatures above 30 degrees. Scorchio! So I am really fortunate to be working with Vintage Coastal from Simple Stories this month. Perfect summer collection of the prettiest papers and accessories.
My layout features a photo from sunny Cornwall rather than exotic climes but I was able to add a truly nautical feel to my layout.
The 4×4 Elements paper has gorgeous cut apart elements on one side and this stunning background on the other so be sure to grab two as I have done. Look at the stunning detail on the background! I layered fussy cut elements from the 2×2 cut apart sheet as well as die-cuts and stickers.
The main design element though is the port hole shaker. To make the port hole, I die-cut 8 layers of thick card which I glued together to make a thick circle. I then die-cut a sheet of acetate and 1 silver layer of silver cardstock which I glued to the front. To make the background I layered paper with sticker from the cardstock sticker sheet. Finally I added a sequin mix before gluing it all into place. To make it more realistic, I added some paper circles for rivets.
To add texture to my layout, I distressed the On Island paper and then I layered frayed gauze over the top.
To finish I swirled some rope across the top and added some more stickers and embellishments.
I love working with this Simple Vintage Coastal – it’s so pretty! Thankfully, there have been restocks so be sure to grab yours before they it sells out again!
Thanks for stopping by.
