Going Glam with My Minds Eye
Hi Magpies, Julie back with you again today sharing 3 layouts using the fab new collection ‘Gal Meets Glam’ from my minds eye. As soon as I saw this collection I knew it would be just perfect for my girls, with all the make up & fab sayings but could also be great for all those selfie photos everyone loves to take.
For my first layout ‘Glam Beauty’ I first added some guesso to the lip service foiled paper & added a few splatters of pink watercolour & then ripped the top third off. I added it to the loving it foiled paper adding some hot pink paper, from the 6×6 paper pad to add a pop of colour.
I picked out all the make up embellishments from the sticker sheet, chipboard & die cut pack & tucked them in, as though they were peeking out of a make up bag. I then added my two photos, under the ripped paper, coming down the page. I strung some black twine across the page & hung more embellishments from that.
My title comes from the fab gold acrylic words & a chipboard word.
For my second layout ‘Boss Babe’ I wanted to add some texture to the background paper so first added some water colours & the sewed across the centre, back & forth, with my sewing machine.
I added a few ripped pieces of paper to the bottom & tucked my photo into that adding the coffee cup & girl die cuts & that fabulous ‘Slay’ acrylic word. Up the top I added more strips, a tag & sunglasses from the chipboard pack & the die cut pack. A bit of word stamping & the chipboard title finished it off.
For my last page ‘On Fleek Girlfriend’ I chose to do a loose grid. I wanted it to stand out a bit more on the background paper so painted a black acrylic square & sewed around it in gold.
I cut 4 pieces of patterned paper, from the 6×6 paper pad, & distressed the edges before sewing them, at angles, to the background. I added my photos to two of the squares & embellishments to the others, layering them up & using pop dots for dimension. Those cute gold acrylic eyelashes added the perfect finishing touch.
I hope you have enjoyed seeing how I’ve used this collection, until next time, happy scrapping xoxo
