Go Vintage with Maggie Holmes – Marigold

Hi there Magpies, Sheena here again x

Today I’m sharing with you 2 layouts featuring  Crate paper – Maggie Holmes –  Marigold collection. I love the delicate colours in this range plus its versatility. For this post I’ve created using vintage photos as this range is perfect for old or new photos.

So Sweet.

For my first layout I wanted to scrap this vintage photo taken of my MIL in the 1950’s. I used the Sweet Sunshine patterned paper as my background and machine sewed the cut down white cardstock to it. I die cut an embroidery hoop shape and backed this with fabric before adhering it down. I layered my photo with various papers. Then added flowers and animals around the hoop shape.

I fussy cut the Golden Hour Gold Foil vellum so I could tuck the leaves behind various die cut flowers. To create my title I stamped the So Sweet acrylic stamp in white ink and then back stitched over this and fussy cut it out. I finished the page with a velvet bow.

For my second layout I focused on the Our Story patterned paper and photos of my Dad as a child.

Sweet Boy.

I started with white cardstock as my base and added some subtle mixed media using Distress Oxide inks and various stencils across the middle of the cardstock. I added ripped stripes of the Very Dear patterned paper at either side.

I set about making 2 clusters layering journalling cards from the Our Story paper, die cuts plus some book paper and previously fussy cut vellum leaves.

The title was added using the puffy gold phrase and icon Thickers – Sweet plus a few stickers from my stash.

I hope these pages provide some inspiration for you to check out and use this wonderful Crate paper range. Please upload and share your creations in our Facebook group as we love to see what you create.

Till next time x
