Gingham Gardens | My Mind’s Eye | Morag Cutts

Hi everyone. I hope that you are safe and well. The times are so uncertain that I’m finding solace in my craft room.

I have been using the Gingham Gardens collection by My Mind’s Eye this month. The pretty flowers mixed with the soft gingham patterns are just perfect for this unexpected spring weather.

Card & Gift Bag

I have a lot of friend’s birthdays in March so I thought I’d get some card making practise in and they would also be perfect for Easter too.

The card uses left over patterned papers in this simple design I found that the die-cut ephemera pack has lots of elements. I added fussy cut flowers from the Savannah paper. I also cut out the flag and die-cut envelope from the same paper.

Adding the crochet thread around the die-cut jar really kicks things up a notch. Just look how pretty the bird is.

The gift bag was cut from one sheet of paper. I used a simple design which I found on line.

Smile Layout

The mix of small patterns and gingham are so pretty. I created a simple faux envelope by adding flaps to the bottom and top of a rectangle. I then sewed buttons onto the top flap and base before adding the twine. This gives it the look of a pocket envelope.

The big, blousy blossoms on the Amanda paper were calling out for fussy cutting! If the arrangements are too big or awkard shapes, I’ll trim around the flowers and leaves as I need to.

I added the die-cut elements. I trimmed these a little as there was a lot of white space around the outside.

This layout would be perfect to document an Easter egg hunt in the back garden.

I do hope I have inspired you with this pretty collection. Hey Little Magpie is staying open so if you need a little bit of joy I would certainly recommend the Gingham Gardens collection.

Take care and I hope that you all stay safe. See you next month.
