Gift Wallet Using Simple Stories I Am Collection
Hey Magpies. I hope you are all safe and well. This month, I have been using the Simples Stories I Am collection and for a little change, I created a pretty present that would be ideal for a fellow crafter.
I made the wallet from sturdy pink card stock and is about 5″ x 7″ so I could use the 6×8″ Paper pad. To add detail, I stitched each page which does take a little time but you could skip this step.
To decorate the front, I used Cardstock Combo Stickers and some elements from the 4×6″ Sticker Book. This book is jam-packed with a variety of stickers, alphas, elements and journaling.
You can see in the photo below that I punched a hole in the spine to hang some charms and tassel. To make the simple tassel, I wound wool from my stash around a small cardboard rectangle. After winding it around many times, I secured it with another length of wool. After slipping it off the cardboard, I wound some thread around the top to secure the tassel before trimming the ends. I removed the charms from old necklaces – I love how they dangle next to the tassel.
Inside the folio, I made a number of pockets to store the gifts and tags. The left hand pocket is a simple rectangle which I punched out a half circle. This pocket is perfect for storing the gift card or tag.
The Front of the pocket is decorated with more stickers.
On the right hand side I used several papers from the paper pade to create angled pockets. These are really easy to make. Just trim your papers at an angle and wrap the paper around the background and secure on the back.
These taller pockets are fabulous for storing tags and ephemera. I made a tag from the patterned papers and used stickers to decorate.
You can stuff the pockets with tags and ephemera so your crafty friend will have a lovely suprise.
I hope that you like this folio idea and may be will try to make your own version. Thanks for stopping by.
