Getting crafty with Auburn Lane
Upon first glance, you may well not recognize that Auburn Lane is by Pink Paislee.
Its Autumnal colours of peaches, ochre, greens and brown feature copper highlights. They are not the usual, brighter colours often used in Pink Paislee collections. It’s such a pretty collection for which to scrap all our autumnal photos with.
For my first layout using Auburn Lane, I used a Paige Taylor Evans cut file. I find backing a cut file with an assortment of patterned papers very therapeutic. Better still, it helps me to break into a new collection! Equally as the paper pack is 6 x 8”, I already had 2” to play with before I was down to a 6 x 6” pad!
Plus, some of the 6 x 8” papers have the copper embossed detail on them, so unlike other collections, the smaller scale papers are treated as speciality papers too!
The floral ephemera pack has the same touches too – some die-cuts are embellished with the copper accents and this follows through to the rub-ons set, which in my opinion are some of the best rub-ons I’ve ever used. When applying to the paper, they don’t crease or have rub marks on them. Better still, you don’t see the halo silhouette of the rub-on either. The stickers sheet has touches of the copper too, so that the whole collection co-ordinates cohesively.
My second layout uses lots of the floral ephemera pack, clustered around a wood veneer frame.
Each of the four frames within the pack is different, both in terms of shape and colour. Some of the cute puffy stickers also found their way onto this layout, as did the label stickers.
My last layout uses another Paige cut file.
I embellished the neck of the coat hanger cut file with pieces from the die-cut floral ephemera and fussy cut sections of the stunning foiled vellum.
The main base of the layout uses the woodgrain, paper no. 2, which provides a strong contrast to the crisp whiteness of the cut file.
And the butterfly… she landed on my page from Jen Hadfield’s collection Patio Party!
