Get Happy with Gossamer Blue

Hands up if you’ve got plenty of time to spare this month ? Anyone ?! Hmm , don’t know about you but what with the carol concerts , the Christmas fairs , the end of term shenanigans and don’t even mention the Christmas shopping , you could be mistaken for thinking that this month is whizzing along at the speed of Santa’s sleigh . With this is mind, I’ve put together some really speedy projects that take minutes – yes minutes, not hours .
I’m loving the new releases from Gossamer Blue and couldn’t wait to get my hands on their Christmas line – Get Happy and who wouldn’t Get Happy surrounded by these papers ? They’re glorious – a real burst of colour to brighten up the greyest December day and you can a good look without it all looking too co-ordinated.
I haven’t ever been able to commit to Project Life but I do like to put together a mini album for December. Here’s a speedy little book I ran up with papers, stickers, pockets and wood veneer numbers.  I also used some of Heidi SwappsI haven’t filled it with photos yet but its ready and waiting to go once I print off a months’ worth of Christmas snaps from my phone, when things quieten down in January.

The pages are randomly layered in various sizes so that you get a peek at the page ahead as you flick through . I can’t wait to fill it up with photos once the Christmas mayhem has died down !
Next up is a speedy layout which again took only minutes to put together . I really loved the simplicity of Gossamer Blue’s Trimming Trees paper – just tiny gold christmas trees against a white background. I don’t want a cluttered look so I simply used a large piece of this with a couple of other randomly cuts layers from the same Get Happy collection . Set on American Crafts Woodgrain card stock which I adore in a new colour – nickel and the bare minimum of embellishment – just some copper coloured cord and a smattering if sequins and the layout was complete.

And finally , just to use up the leftover scraps , I threw together a few gift bags which are simply layered up with  a selection of Gossamer Blue and Heidi Swapp  papers, a bit of stamping and I couldn’t resist fussy cutting one of the stag’s heads . If time is short for you , then these are just the thing fro show you’ve gone to some trouble but not burnt the candle at both ends and stayed up til midnight fussing with a gazilliion embellishments. Once all my materials were assembled , it only took me minutes to put these together .
