Garden Party Pretties, Maggie Holmes | Julie Taylor
Hi Magpies, Julie back with you again today, sharing 2 layouts using the gorgeous Maggie Holmes Garden Party collection. I just love anything Crate Paper & Maggie Holmes & this collection does not disappoint, lots of floral patterns, pastel colours & gorgeous embellishments.
Sweet
For my first layout I added some messy alphabet stamping, to gessoed cardstock & then bled the colours out & added some small heart stamping in a few colours.
I then built up my layout, using 2 of the same photos, one small & the other a bit larger. I added two strips, at the top & sewed them down, adding my smaller photo & cluster to that.
My larger photo was added to the bottom, grounding the layout & I added another cluster around that with die cuts, fussy cut flowers & chipboard pieces.
My title, simply Sweet, comes from the 6×12 sticker sheet.
You Shine
I started my second layout cutting out the 6 circles, using a metal die. I arranged them in a grid pattern, towards the upper part of my paper & sewed a messy border around them. I then added a bit of stencilling using the flower builder stencil, in the collection & some Pinkfresh Studio Die Ink Cube Packs, giving a lovely soft colour & I added a grey outline around it to help it stand out.
I then set about embellishing the circles. I cut my photos into circles & added those in 2 places & built clusters around each with die cuts, fussy cut flowers, tags & chipboard.
I chose the large title, You Shine, off the 12×12 chipboard sheet, which gives great impact on the page.
I have thoroughly enjoyed using this collection & will be back, later in the month, sharing 2 more layouts.
Until next time,
