For the love of Embellishments

Hi Magpies’ Julie back with you today sharing 3 layouts all about my love of embellishments. I truly love embellishments & use them on every page as you will see in these following layouts. For my first layout ‘Together’ I went all lovey dovey, being as it’s February & the month of love but not a mushy layout. I chose to work on this lovely acetate with red hearts all over it from Bella Blvd. I sprayed a heart doily with Heidi Swapp color shine & attached a variety of chipboard frames, vertically down the layout & added my photo in the centre, then came the embellishing, I used project life-sweet edition-chipboard stickers, simple stories-carpe diem A5 planner-word label stickers, Heidi Swapp bow embellishments, Crate paper-hello love-glitter heart stickers & my favourite Hey Little Magpie enamel heart stickers. I clustered all these in & around the frames & photo, layering them on top of each other, leaving the outer edges blank so drawing the eye to the photo at the centre.
 


 
For my second layout ‘epic friend silliness’ I used these fab photos taken by my fellow DT member, Sheena, at our last scrappy retreat of us trying to get a good selfie, which always ends in much laughter. I used 2 different black & white papers & some white cardstock, cutting them all on the diagonal to produce 4 triangles which I sewed onto black cardstock & lifted up the edges. My title is cut on my silhouette with a wood word & acetate word both from Heidi Swapp. I made photo mats for both photos using bits of papers & added some Heidi Swapp dipped tags to add some colour & then I added some carpe diem word stickers, me & my big ideas glitters stickers, more Heidi Swapp bow embellishments & a few stickers off the carpe diem icon stickers pack
 


 
My final layout ‘choose happiness’ is something I go back to time & time again…mixed media, I just love taking some white cardstock & playing around & coming up with a piece of paper unique to you. I used Heidi Swapp color shine in my favourite colours, Tropicana teal, gold lame & butter & using the packaging technique smuched the ink onto the page & added some flicks. I then added loads of stamping in black ink, just to add texture & then added some texture paste through a stencil. Once this was all dry I was able to add the embellishments. I tore bits of paper & washi tape adding them to both outer edges & stitching them down. I then added that fab gold foam ‘happiness’ to the centre & my photos to the left hand side, adding some more dipped tags & notepad words to the photo mats. I then ripped the top part of the layout & added a bit of yellow cardstock & a gold doily before attaching to the black & white striped paper. I then let loose with the embellishments using many of the things I’d used on the other two layouts plus me & my big ideas-pocket page clear stickers-gold friends & carpe diem bits & pieces
