Fernwood | Vicki Boutin | Giselle Homer

Hello Magpies,

I hope you haven’t been too badly affected by our recent stormy weather. What better reason to stay warm at home & do some scrapping?! Today I’m sharing another layout using the very lovely Fernwood collection from Vicki Boutin.

DISCOVER STONEHENGE

For my first layout I began by sprinkling yellow & blue paint on the background, concentrating the colour in the middle of the cardstock.

Then I cut some diamond shapes from the Simple Pleasure paper, keeping some open & using some solid shapes too. I arranged these onto the layout in a central pattern that would fit behind my two photos. I added a few embellishments among the diamonds, from the Puffy Thickers pack plus some Rosie’s Studio Puffy Phrase Stickers. Those gold puffy arrows are a perfect embellishment to highlight part of your layout or a photo.

After distressing the edges of my photos I glued them in place just below the centre. I fussy cut a large flower cluster & added some extra fussy cut leaves on the left of the photos.

There are lots of Chipboard Thickers embellishments in the collection & I chose 3 vertical words to place on the right of the photos, plus a few dots & leaves.  I continued adding small embellishments here & there, there are SO many to chose from!

Finally, I chose my title from the Puffy Thickers pack, these are just lovely, with a smooth matt finish & they aren’t too thick.  I completed the title with an alphabet that I had in my own stash.

I hope you have a look through this collection, with Spring just around the corner, it’s perfect for outside photos!

Later this month, I’ll be sharing another ‘Fernwood’ collection. Until then, happy scrapping everyone!
