Feeling the Love in December

Hi Everyone I hope you are starting to feel the festivity of this season and the chill of the start of meteorological Winter has you wrapped up in lots of cozy clothes.  Last month I shared with you the start of a project using the wonderful Halloween stash from the shop this month I have skipped a holiday and have skipped to Valentines.
I always have been a big lover of the Valentines collections that come in to the shop, and find them very usable in my scrapbooking and not just for themed pages.  This month the collection I am using is the Main Squeeze by Crate Paper, and its adorable.  I find that a lot of my pages are about me and my boyfriend so the cute and sweet themes can work to document what we do together.

I decided to make a simple mini album this month, and include some of my favourite photos of us over the past year.  I had an old chipboard album, that had been in my stash for a couple of years, and this collection was perfect to bring it to life.

The album was a simple ring bound chipboard album, I created a simple spine to keep the front and the back cover together using a thinner older piece of paper from my collection for this,as I needed to be flexible and curve and fit in the rings.  I really love that with rings you can add decoration to the spine.

I wanted to make the front cover really fun, and used an assortment of papers from the 6×6 paperpad, and the die-cut pack.  I used some of the Crate Paper Fa La La La wood veneer alphas and a wood veneer from my stash,  I did a little surgery on the raccoon to cover the saying up on heart he was holding, and I love how this looks.  I finished it off with some Pom Pom trim.

I covered my internal pages with more paper from the 6×6 paper pad.  The paper pad also included gold foiled papers that are beautiful.

My photos are 3×4 and I kept the mounting simple.  I then used an assortment of die-cuts and stickers to decorate the pages and add simple embellishments.  I added some strips cut from Becky Higgins Grid Project life cards, I have added dates and locations and will add journalling to the space, as this will be a gift I have left this blank for this post.

I love some this album came together and the neglected chipboard album that was a bit dated, now has a new lease of life. I really like how sturdy a chipboard album is, and I hope it is well received when it is given at Christmas.  The papers are going to be easy to use all year around and I still have loads of die-cuts left as their was load in the pack.
I hope you all have a lovely Christmas, and create and capture lots of memories, see you in 2018.
