Feeling the Love with Main Squeeze
Hi Magpies, Julie back with you again today & let me start by wishing you all a Happy New Year. Hope you all managed to get some scrapping in over the festive season & are now all ready for 2018 to begin.
I managed to do a bit of scrapping & got to work with the new Crate Paper Valentine collection ‘Main Squeeze’. It’s very typically Crate with beautiful pinks, reds, turquoise & mint & their usual abundance of ephemera to chose from.
My first page ‘I heart you always’ I used 2 of the patterned papers & ripped & curled the edges of the top one before adhering it to the bottom piece, adding a contrasting piece inbetween. I added a photo mat to my photo with papers from the 6×6 pad & added that on the top left with a die cut ephemera piece & some of the chipboard alphabet thickers. I then went to town making a banner on the bottom half of the layout using all manner of ephemera from the 12×12 chipboard elements, 6×12 accent stickers, die cut ephemera pack, gold arrow clips, heart tassels, puffy stickers & waterfall stickers, just adding it all to some bakers twine & popping some of it up on foam tape to give a bit of dimension. I finished the layout with a few black ink splatters.
For my second layout ‘ you’re my main squeeze, always & forever’ I chose to make my own background. I used one of the patterned papers ‘honey paper’ & added ripped strips from the washi tape pack, in various places & then added some watercolour paint & messy machine stitching. I added a bit of gold texture paste to the centre & top right & bottom left & then layered my photo cluster & ephemera in the centre & going towards the top & bottom with lots of the chipboard shapes. I stamped a few little hearts around the page & added some cut out heart faces from the 6×6 paper pad. I finished the page with some black & gold splatters, a doodled border & a bit of hand stitching.
I still have loads of this collection left & can’t wait for a bit more free time as the chipboard sheet still has a Llama, fox, cute cherries, rainbow….. Oooo the possibilities.
Until next time xoxo
