Feeding the Emu! – Crate Paper – Fresh Bouquet Collection – Wendy Meffan
Hi Magpies! It’s Wendy here sharing two LO using the gorgeous Crate Paper Fresh Bouquet Collection. I love all the flowers in this collection and they lend themselves to outdoor photographs.
I’m getting bolder using paper collections and not saving papers I really love so I cut into the 12×12 flutter paper and made the two side triangles. This paper being neutral in colour went well with the photos . Then I cut into the 12×12 fern paper and used both sides also to compliment the colours in the photos. I distressed the edges and then machine sewed around them all.
I mounted the photos on papers from the 6×8 paper pad and then attached sticky fixers to give them some depth on the page, I arranged them in a slightly stepped way as each photo was another stage closer to the emu eating from Mark’s hand!
I fussy cut flowers from two of the floral sheets and also the bunnies from another paper and added them again raised on sticky fixers. I added some tabs from the ephemera pack and then stapled in some pompoms. I made a few clusters around the corners of the photos.
I made the banner tabs myself and added some chipboard leaves to each cluster. I found some rose gold letters in my stash and used them for the title as they coordinated so well colour wise.
I added a cute epoxy paper clip with Love This on it to the top corner of the last photo
This collection is easy to use as it all matches well together.
LAYOUT 2 ….
I wanted to use some different techniques on this LO so started by tearing papers to make the top part of the LO. I like the white torn edge look from these solid coloured papers.
I decided to use a single photo on this LO and really liked the picture frame in the ephemera pack, this determined the size of my photo so I could tuck it into the frame! I then used two tags from the ephemera and distressed the edges. I fussy cut the rabbit, its floral edge and some flowers and added a butterfly grip.
I added embellishments from the chipboard sticker sheet and the word LOVE.
I then went back to the top of the LO and added a couple of clusters from fussy cut flowers and the embossed puffy stickers
I added some of the chipboard hearts from the chipboard sticker sheet.
I added an inverted tag and another chipboard sticker and then mixed some water colours to match the papers and added some splatters over the LO. To finish off I fine lined around the edge of the LO in a black pen to give an edge.
These LO are both very different and I’m happy with both of them and how they have worked out.
I hope they have given you some inspiration and I look forward to seeing your LO
Till next time … Happy Scrapping!
