February Embellishment Kit Scrapbook Layout – Wendy Meffan

Hello Magpies! It’s Wendy here and I’m excited to be sharing my layout using the February Embellishment Kit. It is such a beautiful kit full of all kinds of goodies. I have used Simple Stories Winter Wonder Collection which complimented the colours of the kit perfectly. I also love that it’s Valentines Weekend and my photos were perfect with a big red heart in the Ski resort!

I used a 12×12 paper from the Winter Wonder Collection and tore away the bottom quarter of the paper. I rolled the bottom edge up and then attached the white ruffle and pink crochet lace from the embellishment kit. I then used another patterned paper and completed the page to 12×12 at the bottom.

Next I took the doilies and decided to cut them into Snowflakes to use behind the photos. I folded them into sixths and then snipped away to create gaps which gave the snowflake effect. I placed three sequins in the centre of each snowflake and with the twine from the kit added french knots through the centre of them. I then stuck more sequins on all the points for the snowflakes. Having positioned the snowflakes on the page I then added some fussy cut ski pieces from the paper collection and also added a wooden heart from the embellishment kit over the top.

I matted the photos and adhered them over the snowflakes. I painted white acrylic paint over the mini hearts on the Smile 3D print, and also around the outline. I added this under the photos as a title.

I used some more of the sequins to create a shaker heart pocket using a Fuse tool. I used more of the twine and attached two tassels to the heart, before sticking it to the layout.

To finish I added the Sweet Heart charm and heart paper clip over the photos.

I really enjoyed using many elemnts of the embellishment kit and love how my layout turned out!
