Fancy Pants Design – Happy Place
Fancy Pants Design’s collection – Happy Place – is just that ! A happy collection of lovely Spring like colours which are perfect for banishing the Winter blues.
I don’t often use pastels but I’m a new convert. These photos suited the colours perfectly . I love the die cut alpha sheets in the collection – there are so many of each letter that you can play around with colour combinations easily.
The puffy stickers are very delicate too, perfect for simple layouts like this one., as are the very versatile diction stickers that come in all the colours used in the collection.
But it also has a selection of black and white papers which set off the colours beautifully which I used in my ‘S is for Smile’ layout. I’ve been looking into paper folding lately and managed to incorporate a couple of folded 5 point stars into this page. There’s an excellent video tutorial here if you fancy having a go. Ideally you’d be using thin origami paper but even with this super thick patterned paper the folding was very manageable.
I also incorporated a mini flip book – it reminded me of the little books the children loved where you’d match different tops to middles and bottoms . I plan to add a photo to this but as my printer isn’t working and my new one hasn’t arrived , it just has a smattering of embellishments with space to add a photo later. You can access it even when it’s in a page protector by cutting some slits with a craft knife , so that the pages can lie on top of the page protector.
The collection also has some lovely packs of die-cutswith a huge variety of images.
I was wondering how best to use the paper – With You with its bold stripes. It’s one of those papers that you could spend 5 minutes creating a layout ( just add a photo ) or half an hour ( add a few embellishments ) or go the whole hog and spend an hour ( or more in my case as the world’s slowest scrapper ) going to town.
I added a folded banner at the bottom of the page which is like a mini pop up card. It adds a bit of bulk but I’m planning on putting this one in a box frame so it won’t get squashed in a page protector.
I then wounds some red twine following the red swirly line in the design and added a few clusters of leaves cut from gold glitter card stock which echo the design of the leaves printed on the paper. Love the flairs in this collection.
So, if you need to banish the blues – go pastel with Fancy Pants Happy Place Collection – I guarantee it will cheer you up !
