Explore…Go Anywhere!
Hi Everyone! It’s Wendy here with my first post for May and it also happens to be National Scrapbooking Day! I have chosen to use Maggie Holmes Round Trip Collection. this month. I just love this collection and as we have finally started traveling again it’s just perfect. I loved all the pastel shades in this collection and the wonderful 12×12 cut apart sheets.
For my layout I chose a picture from when we were in St Lucia which is a very beautiful island full of gorgeous flowers, so I fussy cut a number of flowers from the gorgeous 12×12 Wonderlust sheet which is covered in pink, yellow and lilac flowers. There are three 12×12 cut apart sheets Caravan, Tickets and Explore. I always cut apart these sheets right at the beginning of using a collection as it gives more embellishments to work with. I distress all the edges of everything cut up too.
I matted my photo as the starting point of the layout and then used a selection of embellishments to make two clusters either side of the photo. I used elements from the Icon ephemera pack, fussy cut flowers, and the 12×12 chipboard elements sheet.
I had a Bramblefox perspextive which was also perfect to embellish with so added it over the Slide frame. I then added the chipboard word Explore as the main title as we were out on a day trip around St Lucia exploring.
As I frequently document, I’m not great at leaving white space so I felt the top of the layout needed some embellishing so I used tags from the tickets cut apart sheet and some more of the icon ephemera along with the fussy cut flowers.
Finally I added gold sticker hearts and puffy stickers around the layout and then added some gold splatters using a gold spray and also some pale yellow and orange splatters using distress oxides.
