ENJOY TODAY – JEN HADFIELD – THE AVENUE – WENDY MEFFAN

Hey Magpies! It’s Wendy here sharing my second blog post this month using Pebbles Jen Hadfield The Avenue Collection. I chose another out door photo and used the more orange based papers this time as they coordinated well with the picture.

I used Daffodil Dr 12×12 paper and tore it and used both sides to make the top part of the layout and then tore the striped 12×12 Poppy Pl paper and placed it in-between. I rolled the torn edges slightly to give a bit of dimension. I used a straight 1 inch strip across the bottom and then added some torn pieces over the top.

I used the cut apart 12×12 First Avenue paper and used a 3×4 journal card from it almost as the title .

I matted the photo and cut another piece go green 3×4 ” to place behind the Enjoy today card. I then added three clusters from the  floral ephemera pack. This ephemera was surprisingly larger than I expected!

I added a few embellishments from the acetate and gold ephemera pack around the photo and clusters. Finally around all the floral pieces placed some puffy gold foil leaves. These really lifted the floral ephemera and gave extra dimension to the clusters.

Layout 2 – TOGETHER

I used a different colour spec on this layout and was able to incorporate the black and white elements of the collection which were great for my black and white photo.

I used the 12×12 First Avenue paper on the reverse and cut a panel and then edged it with strips from the 12×12 b side of the Puppy Park paper.

I fussy cut some hearts from the 12×12 Dahlia Dr Paper and then matted them with the 12×12 Acorn Avenue paper. I also matted the photo on this paper and assembled centrally. I placed the hearts above and below the photo mat.

I decided to keep this layout very simple and clean but felt it needed something so used the floral ephemera leaf swirls either side of the page with a header strip from one of the 12×12 pages.

I then added the title in gold thickers and also a couple of tabs from the ephemera pack and some puffy gold leaves.

I’m very pleased with these layouts turned out  and loved using such a different variety of colours .I feel these LO stand alone quite well without any mixed media.

I hope you will feel inspired to look at this collection and I look forward to seeing your creativity. Don’t forget to post on the Hey little Magpie Facebook page.

Till next time …..
