Echo Park – Wish Upon a Star Collection

Hi Magpies, Jackie here with my blogpost for this month. Last month I went to Paris for a few days with some of the DT and we spent one day at Disneyland Paris – I’ve never been to Disney before and I was super excited to be going even if it was only for one day, but boy did we pack a lot in.  One of the newest manufacturers to the Store is Echo Park – Wish Upon a Star collection – which is totally the correct collection as its Disney themed.
As well as the mini album, I will be doing a 12×12 album which will also incorporate the trip to Paris as well as adding some pocket pages with more Disney photographs.
For my mini album I’ve mixed the photograph sizes, as I had various sized page protectors within the album.  Some of the photographs I printed 6×8 and just inserted through the album, adding some small details simple embellishment.

For this one I cut the word stripes from one the Echo Park – Wish Upon a Star 3×4 Journalling cards and added directly over my photograph.

By adding the journalling cards alongside my photographs, I was able to complete my pages very quickly.  (Apologies for the glare from the page protectors).

I also added a few smaller sized scrapbook pages, which are 6×8, as they are smaller there came together very quickly.

Now onto my 12×12 layouts, I have tried to stay away from the A-side of the papers as they were more traditional ‘Disney’ themed and used the B-sides of the patterned papers.  You will see that even thought my photographs are Disney based the majority of patterned papers from this collection can be used for any type of photograph, just by using the B-side of the collection.
Wish Upon a Star

I used the b-side of Echo Park – Wish Upon a Star – Say Cheese paper  as my base and the b-side of  Echo Park – Wish Upon a Star – Border Strips paper, down the middle of my based paper.  I added a piece of Echo Park – Wish Upon a Star – Dream Big paper.  I die-cuts a few stars from the Echo Park – Wish Upon a Star – 6×6 pad, to use as base for the clusters.

Adding some Echo Park – Wish Upon a Star Chipboards to add some details around the page.
I also added some Echo Park – Wish Upon a Star – Adhesive Enamel Words and Phases stickers.

The title is from the Echo Park – Wish Upon a Star sticker sheet

I printed this photograph 8 x 6 as I wanted the photograph to be the main focus of the layout.  The layout of this page is one that I’ve used many times before, adding strips of paper down the lefthand side and adding some machine stitching to add some texture and detail to the page.
I back the photographs with Echo Park – Wish Upon a Star –  Best Day Button paper, again using the b-side.
This page came together quickly as the photographs was large and I just added clusters of die cuts, chipboards, enamel dots, enamel adhesive shapes around the page.

The title is from Echo Park – Wish Upon a Star – Chipboard Phases, which is a perfect title for this layout.

Magic – Dream – Fun

For my final layout, I went for something completely different, I stamped a large circle stamp onto some water-colour paper and using Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Peacock Feather, Squeezed Lemonade, Candied Apple.  To use Distress Ink as a paint, add some ink to a mat and mix with water and paint – simple really and so effective.
I added the stamp image to Echo Park – Wish Upon a Star – Magical Castle paper, using the b-side of the paper, I choose this paper is it had the circle details and went well with the stamped image.
I added patterned paper from the 6×6 pad behind my photographs and added some chipboard, enamel dots, adhesive enamel words and shapes.

I love this collection not only for my Disney photographs but as I’ve used the b-side of most of the papers, they can be used for everyday scrapping as well.
Don’t forget to check out our Facebook page with this months challenge and share any layouts you do, as we would love to seen them.
Till next time, happy scrapping
