Echo Park – Summertime – Pt 2 | Jackie Ashton
Hi Magpies, Jackie back again with the rest of my mini album, using Echo Park Summertime collection, with an additional collection Simple Stories – Simple Vintage Great Escape collection.
So to recap on my album, you can find my previous post here.
When I start to plan an mini album, I normally choose a main paper collection to use, and it doesn’t bother me if I add an additional one or two collection throughout the album, especially when I see a collection that will work better with my subject photographs.
We visited the Eden Project, whilst in Cornwall which is just stunning, but the photographs were more garden / greenery type ones, and I felt that these photograph would work better with a more outdoors type collection. So I added Simple Vintage Great Escape collection to document these photographs.
Using a 8×3 page protector from my stash I added my journalling about our day at the Eden Project, and because it was facing the previous page, I used the Summertime collection for this, then behind I just added a simple filler card the Simple Vintage Great Escape collection.
So I started with a 6×8 photograph with a title using Elle’s Studio puffy alphabet stickers and a stamped day label.
I love the 2×2 element sheet for this collection, so I cut them all apart and added to 2×2 pocket pages, and added extra photographs of our day to the the spaces in between.
I added a mini layout in a 7×5 page protector I had in my stash
as well as cutting down a 6×8 paper from the paper pad and adding it opposite.
Then going back the the Summertime collection I finished the album with our final day in Cornwall, which we spent in St Ives.
So again back to a large photographs, with puffy alphabet stickers and stickers from the Sticker book and on the back a photograph on us on a boat … not the best boat ride we have been on but we had some amazing views of St Ives bays and the fantastic lighthouse. I added wood veneer directly onto my photographs as well as stickers from the Summertime sticker book.
I used the 3×4 element paper to add details to the pocket and also onto the reverse of my 7×5 page protector, as well as the lovely wood veneer ‘Hello Sunshine’ from Elles Studio.
To finish this album I did a 6×8 layout and added loads of small photographs, to the bottom of the page, which I randomly adhere and added stickers from the sticker book between some of the photographs as well as wood veneer from Elle’s Studio.
I’m really pleased how this album as turned out and love how I’ve added a load of different pocket pages to add extra interest, as well as incorporating more than one paper collection.
Don’t forget to share what you are creating over in our Facebook group the team would love to see them.
Till next time
Keep scrapping
