Echo Park – Summertime | Jackie Ashton

Hi Magpies, Jackie here, with my 1st blogpost for this month, which is a mini album from my recent Cornwall staycation. For this album I’ve used Echo Park – Summertime collection, with Elle’s Studio stamps and embellishments and a Simple Stories – Snap 6×8 album.

When I design albums like these I find that there is not much to talk about as in how to assemble the pages, but I’ve selected a few of the pages that showcase the products I’ve used.

I was fortunate to get a way for 6 days with James at the end of July, and as usual we packed loads in during our stay and most so made some fab memories.

So to start with I used a Simple Stories 6×8 album, then I gathered together a selection of pocket pages. I like my albums to have various sizes of pocket page inserts so that when you turn the pages, it gives the reader added interest and everything is not all the same.

To add some continuity to my album, I used one of my favourite border punches on pattered paper, and added these strips to my journalling spots throughout the album. I’ve also typed my journalling on the computer and cut to the size of the pocket pages they have gone into, this this take a while, but it allowed me to add more journalling than I would have.

Most of the stickers in this album are from the Echo Park – Summertime Sticker Book.

I added the day of the week to the start of each day, using the Elle’s Studio Label stamps set and Mini Days of the Weeks stamp set and just stapled them to the photograph.

On this printed journalling card – I added various stamps from Elle’s Studio Title Builder set.

On a few of the photographs I’ve added stickers directly onto the photograph.

I’ve collated some of the photographs to enable me to have more on the page without having to add more pocket pages, and added puffy stickers and word stickers to embellish.

For every area we visited I printed a 6×8 photograph and just added straight to the pocket page, some have the day of the week label on and maybe a puffy sticker.
