Echo Park Papers – Mouse & Me Collection | Jackie Ashton

Hi Jackie here, there’s something extra special about documenting those “just before” moments—the anticipation, the excitement, and all the memories waiting to be made. For this layout, I captured a photo of us right before heading off to the ship for our very first cruise, and it felt only right to use the gorgeous Echo Park Mouse and Me collection to tell the story.

 

I started with my white cardstock and added some texture detail using the new Mickey head stencil across the background.

To build my design, I layered various strips of patterned paper into an L-shaped arrangement. I love how this technique naturally frames the photo and draws your eye in, while also giving me the chance to showcase several of the playful prints from the collection. The colours are so vibrant and full of that classic Disney feel—it really helps capture the excitement of the day.

I layered patterned paper behind my two 3×4 photographs using the 6×6 Mouse & Me pad, leaving a slight border, and added 3D foam behind the right-side photograph to give it some added dimension to my layout.  I added some additional texture by hand stitching a design down the left-side of the patterned papers, using one of the new stitching templates.

To embellish my page, I added a mix of stickers, die-cuts, and brads from the collection to bring everything to life. Tucking little elements in and around the layers creates dimension and keeps your eye moving across the page.

For the title, I used a Hey Little Magpie acrylic title, which adds a lovely finishing touch with a bit of shine and texture.
