Echo Park – A Slice of Summer | Jo Boland
Hey, it’s Jo here back with my May projects and this month I’m using the Echo Park Paper ‘A Slice of Summer’ collection. If truth be told, I was hoping we would have had some summer like weather, or at least some warm spring days. Alas no, it’s been quite simply a shocker of a spring so far and even the garden flowers are protesting! However, this collection is beautiful, with a vintage summer vibe and primary colours.
This was what I ordered from the collection, along with some Elle’s Studio products, although I didn’t use the die set.
Scrapbook Layout 1 – Hello First Market
I used the Hello Summer Floral paper for the border, gutting the middle 10×10″ section to use another time. Isn’t it a lovely paper? I added an 11×11″ piece of white cardstock on top, matted my photos on a piece of the wood paper from the 6×6″ paper pad.
I added some element stickers on foam pads to the right side and a chipboard accent piece to the left. The chipboard pieces do not have an adhesive backing, so I used liquid glue to adhere these.
I added three label stickers from Elle’s Studio for the date and journaling, the light teal colour goes beautifully with this collection. The tile letter stickers are also by Elle’s Studio and them come in other colours too, I love them. The gold Hello is from the Maggie Holmes ‘Garden Party’ Puffy Accent Stickers. To echo the gold I added some gold ink splatters from my stash. Finally, I placed three yellow enamel dots from the Echo Park collection and faux stitching with a black pen.
Scrapbook Layout #2 – Summer Days
For my second layout I decided to stay with the same basic design as the first layout, using the Summertime paper for the background border. I matted the photo on two papers from the paper pad, and added element stickers and chipboard accents around it. The top of the tag is cut from the Multi Journaling Cards paper. The notepaper is cut from a paper in the paper pad. I made it look realistic by punching holes with my crop-a-dile and snipping into with scissors.
In the top corner I added the lovely swim ware washing line chipboard piece. I added several enamel dots around the layout to pull colours into the clusters. Again I splattered some gold ink on the background.
I love this little cluster of summer flip flops, bag and a hat. The hat and bag pieces are chipboard accents and the flip flops are stickers. I just added a foam pad under the end of each flip flop to give them some dimension. The title is from the sticker sheet and again I raised that up on foam pads too.
Thanks so much for stopping by, you can find the Echo Park Paper ‘A Slice of Summer’ collection in the Hey Little Magpie store here.
