Dream On Colour Themes

Hello everyone, I hope I find you well this month, and you have found time to do scrapping and that you are looking forward to the upcoming International Scrapbooking Day. Make sure you check out the blog and Facebook page for all the details of the challenges.

This month I have chosen a collection from Pink Fresh Studio to focus on, the Dream On collection. This is a collection that I had passed by previously as I had seen the graphic/clean papers and was not sure it would work with my style. I decided that I would have a play with the collection.

Their are distinct colours within this collection and I decided that I would play with the colour themes and see where it took me. I have shown the papers of the collection and the die cut over in the first process video for these pages over on my YouTube channel.

The first page I focused on the oranges and yellow from the collection.

I loved the copper printed vellum and decided I was going to use this as my background. As the vellum does not take medium to well, I layered this over a piece of cardstock with some inking on.

I used a selection of the matching colour die-cuts in order to build up my cluster of embellishments

For my second page I focused on the blue and teal that were in the collection.

I used the b-side of one of the papers for the background and added some matching inks in to the background. I then selected one of the script die cuts for my title.

I include a journaling card in order to write on this layout, to embellish this part of the layout, I used one of my neglected dies, and added a bow. This is cut again from one of the b-side of the other papers and added Nuvo drops to this.

For my final page I want to share with you I decided to try and use all the collections on a page. I will admit that bright green was not a colour I was looking forward to using, but I think the bits I sneaked in worked.

I went to one of my favourite styles of layout, which you will have seen from me many times. I use this when I have multiple photos of the same event, or from them times that I got snap happy and their possibly will be 90 layouts!!

I used the cluster to capture the colours from the collection and used two of the papers for my background which picked up the colour of the photos. This collection features a lot of different sayings and text pieces which work from a variety of themed pages.

I have really enjoyed creating these pages using this collection and doing something a little out of my comfort zone. I hope I have inspired a few of you to pick a colour theme from a collection and to create with that, maybe that green inspires you.

I will see you over on the Facebook group over International Scrapbooking Weekend and look forward to seeing you all take part in the challenges.

Have a good May.
