Dream Flight – Crate Paper – Moonlight Magic
Hello Magpies. Amy here to share a layout that I’ve created using Crate Paper’s newest collection called Moonlight Magic. Its a wonderfully floral collection with some added fairies and forest creatures for a hint of magic.
Dream Flight
As soon as I saw this collection I knew it would be perfect for some of my photos that were taken at a theme park in The Netherlands called Efteling. One particular dark ride is called Droomvlucht, which translates to Dream Flight in English and is themed around a fairy woodland dreamscape. You can see why they are a good match!
I started by cutting a piece of the floral paper with a black background and placing it to the left hand side of my page. To balance this I cut a stripe of the lined patterned paper and placed it the right hand side. I then added a larger piece of this paper, including the coloured part to the left side. This gave a me a good foundation to build up my layout.
I printed 3 photos from the ride. Printing them in a smaller size helps because they were not perfectly in focus. I was still actually happy with how they came out seeing as we were moving in a hanging gondola and it was dark all around. I left a white border around my photos and then matted them onto either a pink patterned paper or a yellow patterned paper.
I knew I wanted to use lots of the fairies onto my page. So after I positioned my photos and adding a black tag, I added the large die cut fairy and sticker fairies. I created my title using the acetate word ‘Dreamy’ and cut off the letter Y. I then used Bella Blvd Florence stickers in Plum to add the word Flight.
Then I added lots of the smaller stickers and puffy stickers. This is always my favourite part of creating a layout. I loved adding the birds so they interacted with the fairies. The stars were also a perfect addition to the layout. I used the tile alphabet foam thickers from the collection to add a subtitle too, their gold colour matched some of the gold stars.
To make my layout extra special I added a wax seal to the layout. I decided to use a pale purple one, with a doodled heart outline. I am really enjoying the purple in this collection. Do check out the Hey Little Magpie for this extensive wax seal creating supplies, along with all the tools you will need there is a huge choice of wax beads and brass seals.
Thanks for taking a closer look at my layout. I would love to know what you think of this Moonlight Magic collection, head over to the Hey Little Magpie Chat and Inspiration Facebook group to let us know! Ill be back with another layout using this collection soon.
