Does one size fit all your memories?
Hello everyone, I hope you are finding some time to take some to spend in your craft room during this lovely sunny weather. I must admit it has been nice to send some time crafting, but paper and fans do not mix that well, and I have spent some time chasing small bits of papers around my desk.
This month I am sharing an assortment of projects that I am currently working on, I have made it my mission to try and get some completed during my summer break. This year all the new projects I am starting are under 12×12, I am still working on older 12×12 project as it will always be my favourite size to scrap.
Over in the shop there is a great assortment of albums to use for projects, and these all come in different sizes. There is also a fair few albums that I have stashed over the past few years too. I am currently working in the following album sizes;
4×4- WRMK Album from my stash
8×8 – American Crafts from my stash
8 x 8.9 – Heidi Swapp Fresh Memory Planner
8.25 x 9.5 – DCWV Moment Maker Planner
These albums are all D-ring/Planner ring bindings which suit the way that I make my albums, as it makes it easy to swap around the position of pages.
The shop also has albums in the following sizes:
6×8 – Simple Stories Life Documented
8.5 x 11 – Heidi Swapp Storyline Album
8 x 9 – Bo Bunny Misc Me Album
I have shared some pages from my 8×8 Eden Project album already, but this has been one of my favourites sizes to use, especially as it translates from the 12×12 ratio.
I enjoy how on these pages that I can use 4×6 photos without any editing, but can include several photos if I wish.
I have started an album from my recent trip to Cornwall which documents the adventures of our mini-me dolls. I have made several 4×4 albums and really love this size if want the photos to be the main focus. I brought a lot of these album form the shop and have squirreled them away in my stash for the perfect project. This album is still in the early stages, and I am going to be using Kraft cardstock for my backgrounds.
I created a mini album project of this on the blog a couple of years ago. I will be working in a similar way of creating a series of embellishments to use throughout the album. You can find the blog post here.
I have shared on the blog recently my Heidi Swapp Fresh Memory Planner which I am using to document my daily life. The beautiful gold album is back in stock, as well as the glitter pink personal size planner. I cannot recommend these enough as the paper inside is great quality and it is really working for me to capture my memories in this style.
I love decorating the pages with paint, stickers and stamps to accompany my photos. I would also note the new Amy Tangerine metal stencil is great for adding doodled designs to your journaling.
I have started a new album in the past month to document my family home, and want to include photos from the last 30 years, especially the gardens. I have gone for another planner album, as I have really enjoyed these. This time going for the DCWV Moment Maker Planner. These come in a variety of cover designs but have gone for the gold cover design. The inside of these planners is also lovely, with metallic polka dots.
This planner does come with page protectors, so is ideal for turning these in to an album, or you could use the page protectors to add photos and pages to your every day planner. I am going to be using the the Heidi Swapp Prismatic Project Life cards coupled with some papers from my stash.
I hope sharing with you my current projects have given you some ideas to try new sizes to capture your memories. The mini albums would be perfect for capturing your summer holiday adventures.
Have a great August and I will see you all next month.
