Desk Calendar – Market Square | Jo Boland
Hi there, It’s Jo here with my first DT blog post of the new year. For the last three years I have made a desk calendar from my scrapbook supplies. The previous two years they have been 4×6″ size, you can find 2021 here and 2020 here. This year I decided to make them larger at 6×8″ and use a clipboard to hold them.
Desk Calendar Steps
Step 1 – Making the 2022 Calendar
I used the 4×6″ calendar template journaling tags and the Mini Dated Extras stamps, both from Elle’s Studio to make my calendar.
[Some of the months didn’t fit into the five row template, the last day or so had to be added to the beginning of the month. I’m ok with that]
Step 2 – Choosing the monthly papers
Next I went through the Maggie Holmes 6 x 8″ Market Square paper pad and pulled out 11 sheets. I decided to use a paper from the Crate Paper Busy Sidewalks collection for December so that I had a Christmas paper for that month. I chose Deck the Halls paper which was one of my favourite papers from the collection. It also has some of the same colours and tones used in the Market Square collection so is a good choice.
I put the papers in month order and adhered the monthly calendar templates to each, leaving a little strip of the paper showing beneath the template.
Step 3 – Embellishing the months
I wanted to keep the calendar simple and add minimal embellishment this year. The previous two years I added photos but this year I decided to stick with the Market Square collection. I used a few chipboard stickers, some die-cut ephemera, but mainly cardstock stickers.
I used foam pads on some pieces to give some height and dimension.
Desk Calendar – month by month
[For January I added a gold foil acetate piece from the ephemera pack adhering it to the paper using Glossy Accents and I cut a Hello tag from one of the cut apart papers in the 6×8″ paper pad]
[For December I fussy cut a couple of the baubles from the same paper and added a gold star from the Market Square ephemera pack]
Thanks so much for stopping by,
