Delicious Ice Cream – Simple Stories – Retro Summer – Wendy Meffan

Hi Everyone! It’s Wendy here and I’m sharing my first layout for August using Simple Stories Retro Summer Collection. Such a fun Collection with real vintage vibes!

To start my layout I chose the 12×12 paper Two Scoops which has the ice cream melting across it. I cut this piece away and decided to add mini pompoms  in two layers around the cut outline.

I then looked for the combination of paper patterns which was almost like an ice cream so chose 12×12 paper I scream, You Scream and the “B” side of Summer Break. Choosing to angle my photo I attached the brown and green sheets together and added the cutout piece of Ice Cream melting across it. I raised it on sticky fixers.

I used the long scalloped sticker across the join of the papers and stuck the photo down. Then I used ephemera from the Bits and Pieces Ephemera and created two clusters either side of the photo.

To the right of the photo I also added the ice lolly ephemera and a sticker from the sticker sheet. I raised these both on sticky fixers.

Above the photo to the left I added more Ice Cream ephemera to co ordinate with the photo.

Finally I added the Delicious banner from the Bits and pieces ephemera. I distressed all the edges of the ephemera I used to give more dimension to the layout.

This Collection suits any beach photos and of course Ice cream pictures. Do take a look over on the website if you’ve not seen it.
