December Daily Part 2 – Philippa McCray
Hi there Magpies!
So here is my final project for 2019! I have completed the Memorydex cards 13-25 for my December Daily 2019 based on the Heidi Swapp Memorydex system. I have primarily used the gorgeous Snowflake Collection by Crate Paper and supplemented this with bits and pieces left over from the Pebbles Inc. Merry Little Christmas collection and scraps from my stash!
Earlier in the month I shared cards 1-12 with you. To read how I made the cards and for a full list of products used you can view the blog post here
I haven’t got a photo on every card, some are just embellished. After the festivities are over I plan to make some additional cards cut from 6x 4 photographs, I will also add other special bits and pieces like gift tags, Christmas letters etc.
I’ve used thickers from various collections to make up the numbers and some perspextives from Bramble Fox. I love to create layers and dimension.
I don’t like to waste anything and this card was made from the front cover of the 6 x 8 Paper Pad!
To create this little scene I’ve used stamped trees, torn bobble fringing for snow, a Bramble Fox tiny house, fir branch from an old Christmas decoration and houses fussy cut from paper in the 6×8 Paper pad. It’s one of my favourite cards!
Just had to feature Rory my dachshund puppy who I’m totally in love with! He’s only been with us just over a week and already he is very much a part of the family! The gold leaf trim from an old collection by Maggie Holmes
I often use tags that I’m unlikely to use on their own as background for something else!
I’m afraid it isn’t easy to photograph acetate but 19 and 23 are cut from a snowflake acetate sheet and have gold words from the Chill Puffy Phrase and Icon stickers
There is a lot said about the concept of December Daily. It really doesn’t matter if you don’t do lots of exciting things during the month. My view is that it’s a lovely way to document your personal lead up to Christmas. You can just make pretty pages or cards, add photos if you wish, write as much or as little journalling as you choose, it’s your project, you can decide! My private journalling is on the back of each card, I type my journalling then cut the words into strips.
Fellow DT members Jo Boland and Caroline Aston have shared their personal take on December Daily on the blog do check them out if you haven’t already!
All that remains is for me to wish you a very Happy Christmas and all the best for 2020! I am stepping down from the HLM Design Team.
I’ve loved being a part of the team and having the opportunity to share my projects with you.
Happy Scrapping!
