December Daily 2019 – Pt 1 | Jo Boland

Hello all, Jo here with my first blog posting of the month and this month I’m sharing my 2019 December Daily. I’m using a Simple Stories Sn@p 6 x 8″ album, Crate Paper ‘Snowflake’ collection for embellishments and papers, a variety of Pebbles ‘Merry Little Christmas’ papers, washi tape from the Carta Bella ‘Merry Christmas‘ collection as well as a paper, plus a couple of other papers from different brands and older Christmas collections.

I wrapped Carta Bella ‘Merry Christmas’ washi tape around the middle of my Simple Stories Sn@p album (see above for links to both). NB. At time of writing the album is out of stock, but there are other 6 x 8″ albums available here. I added two sprigs of the Crate Paper ‘Snowflake’ pine branches and added a birch star from my stash on top. To hold them in place I used Glossy Accents and foam pads, but a strong liquid glue or hot glue gun would work. The number thickers are from the Snowflake collection, as are the clear stickers and label sticker. The stickers are no longer available, but I’m sure that means that a lot of you probably have them in your stash already!

I decided to add Christmas papers to the inside covers of the album as the album is a standard year round one. I used the super cute Snow Day paper from Pebbles Merry Little Christmas and added a strip of red washi tape from Carta Bella Merry Christmas collection. The washi tape wasn’t a planned addition, but I’d made a measurement error when cutting the paper and needed to add more length, oops!

The first page uses the same embellishments as the front cover of the album. I put the washi tape on white cardstock to make it stronger, then cut it out and used foam pads to mount both it and the star. All pages in the album have a base of smooth white cardstock which I trimmed to 6 x 8″ and punched holes using a crop-a-dile. I decided not to use page protectors this year. The first and last page in the album is covered on both sides with Holiday Cheer paper from the Pebbles Merry Little Christmas collection.

The inside of the first page has a foil detail from the Crate Paper Snowflake foil accent and phrase sticker pack. Each day page has a piece of 6 x 3.5″ patterned paper at the bottom and a strip of washi tape across the top of the paper. The number for the day is a gold foam thicker from a previous collection from my stash. They have been stuck on a fussy cut star from the Joyous foiled speciality paper of the Crate Paper Snowflake collection and layered on a punched piece of vellum (or tracing paper). Day 1 features the Crate Paper Snowflake collection Icicles paper and foil accents. My journaling has been typed on my computer using the Remington Noiseless Typewriter font and printed on to thin white card.

Day 2 features an old paper from last year, Deck the Halls from the Fancy Pants Cottage Christmas collection. Day 3’s paper is Twelve Days from last years Crate Paper Merry Days collection. The embellishments are from the Crate Paper Snowflake 6 x 12″ sticker pack.

Day 4’s paper is the B-side from Santa on the Go from the Pebbles Merry Little Christmas collection. Day 5 is Carta Bella’s Merry Christmas ‘Christmas Prep’.

Day 6 uses the B-side of Snow Day from Pebbles Merry Little Christmas and Day 7 is ‘Favourite Things’ from the Fancy Pants Designs collection Home for Christmas. I used a mixture of clear stickers, cardstock stickers and a die-cut ephemera label.

Day 8 paper is Holiday Cheer and Day 9 is Santa on the Go, both of which are from the Pebbles Merry Little Christmas collection.

I had lots of photos from Day 9, so I printed them out on 4 x 6″ collages and stuck them to the cardstock pages. I added washi tape from last years Crate Paper Merry Days collection to cover the join across the middle of the pages. The stickers are from the Crate Paper Snowflake clear sticker book.

Day 10 has Comfort & Joy paper from the Fancy Pants Designs collection Home for the Holidays and Day 11 has Sugar Plums paper from last years Crate Paper Merry Days collection. I’ve used a mix of gold foil accents and clear stickers.

My final spread for this blog post is a double page of additional photos from Day 11. Again I used washi tape from last years Crate Paper Merry Days collection which is still available in the shop. I embellished the pages with some cardstock stickers and a clear sticker from the Snowflake collection.

Thanks so much for stopping by, see you again in a couple of weeks.
