December Daily 2019 Part 1- Philippa McCray

Hi there Magpies!

I completed my first December Daily in 2017 and loved the whole process! I used a 6×8 binder and pocket page format. Last year I decided to repeat the process and I’m ashamed to say it’s not yet finished! This year I’ve chosen to do something different……..I liked the idea of creating on a smaller scale so I’m making memorydex cards using the utterly gorgeous Snowflake collection by Crate Paper, I love it!!

I’ve used the following products: The 6×8 Paper Pad, 6×12 Cardstock Stickers, Chill Puffy Phrase and Icon Stickers, Comfort Foam Alphabet Stickers, Die Cut Ephemera, Pine Branches and Rubber Paperclips. Added embellishments and paper scraps are from my stash!

I cut 24 cards using the Heidi Swapp memorydex dies and placing two together machine stitched around them. This gives the cards more weight and stability. My idea is to decorate the front of each card and use the reverse for  journalling. I may not necessarily have a photo for each day but I’m not too worried!

Day 2 I enjoyed a very indulgent afternoon tea!

Decorating the cards has been fun, I’ve layered tags, added die cuts, sequin stars, fussy cut shapes, threads, ephemera, tiny tassels and lots more……

Love a bit of fringing!

I’ve left a space on Day 8 to add a small photo to the front of the card. The little star charm is from my stash.

I mount stickers on card and cut around them as it makes them more versatile.

I do enjoy a bit of hand stitching and I’m loving those tiny pine branches, so versatile! They’ll be popping up on all sorts of festive makes!

I’ve created a little shaker pocket and in case you’re wondering about the dachshunds, I have a puppy joining the family on Monday 9th so I’m sure the rest of December is going to be challenging but lots of fun!

I’ll be back just before Christmas with Days 13-25  and more info on the box I’ve made to house the cards, until then have fun creating your festive layouts and if you’re doing a December Daily don’t forget to post photos on the Hey Little Magpie Facebook Group, we love to see  your creations.

Happy Scrapping!
