December Album Completed | Jo Boland

Hey, it’s Jo with a special end of January catch up on my now completed December Album. I don’t know about you, but getting this yearly album finished before the end of January is always a goal and hurrah, I’ve made it! This year I used the Crate Paper Busy Sidewalks collection for nearly all of my daily spreads. I added in some Simple Stories embellishments too from their Holly Days and Make It Merry collections and the album is by Simple Stories too. I also used date stickers, stamps and acetate numbers by Elle’s Studio and vellum stars, which I fussy cut from a sheet of Vicki Boutin Warm Wishes specialty vellum.

You can find the previous blog posts relating to my December Album here;

Below you will find daily spreads for Days 7 to 31 and you can find a video flip through of the complete album on my YouTube channel here and on the Hey Little Magpie YouTube channel here.

December Album – Days 7 to 23

You might notice that I added a first and second class stamp to my page. This is something I’ve done for a few years now as I like a record of what they looked like. I should really write the cost of a first and a second class stamp, as that’s something that would also be interesting to note each year.

Christmas Eve

I added a piece of the Busy Sidewalks acetate in the Christmas Eve spread and in the Christmas Day spread.

Christmas Day

Christmas Day had lot of photos and I didn’t want to make them all small, so I added in two extra inserts. I would have used the same presents paper for both, however I didn’t have enough. I decided to use this lovely house paper for one of the spreads, Simple Stories Holly Days – Home for the Holidays.

Days 26 to 31

Day 28 had lots of photos too from our day out to London, an extra page was needed here too. This time I had enough of the same paper Holiday Glow left. A happy coincidence that this paper happened to be the same day we went to London to see the Christmas lights!

The Simple Stories Sn@p Album came with some inserts. I didn’t use many because the colours didn’t quite go with the Crate Paper Busy Sidewalks papers I’d used for the pages and inside covers. However, I really liked the pocket insert, so I rounded the corners to match the pages. It’s a very handy addition to store bits and pieces from December that didn’t make it on to the pages.

And that’s another December Album completed! You can find a list of the supplies used below.

Thanks so much for taking a look, if you’ve made a December album please do share some pages on our Facebook group, we’d love to see.
