December 2025 | Julie Taylor
Christmas crafting always feels a little bit magical, and this page came together beautifully using the exclusive Hey Little Magpie Embellishment Kit. It’s one of those kits that makes documenting festive memories effortless, with plenty of coordinated details to play with.

I started with a clean sheet of white cardstock and added ten 2×2 inch squares, arranged diagonally across the page. Before sticking them down, I lightly distressed the outer edges to soften the look and add a hint of vintage charm. To give the design structure and texture, I machine sewed a grid around the squares – one of my favourite ways to add subtle interest without overpowering the page.

Most of the squares were then embellished with bits and pieces from the kit. Tiny die cuts, layered elements, and festive motifs fill each square with its own little story while still keeping the overall layout cohesive. The variety in the kit made it easy to keep things playful without feeling cluttered.

For the focal point, I added my 2.5×2.5 inch photo in the bottom left corner. I anchored the design by placing the wooden “December 2025” title across the bottom of the page, letting it ground the page. Around the photo and title, I tucked in a few extra pieces, die cuts, ribbon, and fabric hearts for warmth and texture – those soft details really help balance the stitching and woodgrain.

To finish everything off, I added a few ink splatters, which brought a relaxed, slightly messy feel that I love for Christmas pages. This layout perfectly captures the cosy, creative joy of the season – and the Hey Little Magpie Embellishment Kit truly did all the hard work for me.
Thanks for joining me today.
Until next time,
