Dear Lizzy – Saturday – Not Just for Saturdays
Hello, Jackie here with my layouts for this month using the wonderful collection by Dear Lizzy – called Saturday. Its her most recent collection and another one that I’d over looked when it came into the shop, but decided to give it a try and see what I could do with it.
When I looked at the collection the names of the papers where all references to New York! so what else but use a few of my New York photographs from last year, and get some more layouts completed for my New York albums. I apologise for the darkness of the photographs as the winter months are drawing in and getting a descent photograph is proving really difficult.
Manhattan
I used a Large panoramic photograph, and layered it on to Dear Lizzy – Saturday – Queens paper adding a border from Dear Lizzy – Saturday – Bright Lights and Brooklyn papers. Adding embellishments from the Ephemera and rubber embellishments packs. I wanted the photographs to be the main focus of my layouts, so kept the embellishments to an minimum.
I also purchased this month, as an early Birthday present, a lovely mint WR Memory Keepers Typeset Typewriter and added some journaling to my page, its not perfect and to be honest I love that I’ve made a typo, makes it look more realistic to me.
Grand Central Station.
I decided to use a two photographs for this layout, but changed it up by using a A4 size and a smaller one measuring approximately 3.5 x 2.5. I added the large photograph directed on to Dear Lizzy – Saturday Manhattan paper, and used a strip of Dear Lizzy – Saturday – Bright Lights paper, which I border punched, added the to bottom of the photograph.
Then using the smaller photograph, I layered the photographs with a selection of patterned papers from the Dear Lizzy – Saturday – 6×6 pad, along with some bits and pieces from Dear Lizzy – Saturday – Ephemera. I also added one of the Dear Lizzy – Saturday -chipboard tags, Dear Lizzy – Saturday – mini puffy stickers, Dear Lizzy – Saturday – Rubber Embellishments.
Metro Ride
This one is a 9×12 size, and I started by distressing the white cardstock with some inks, using the colour tones of the papers.
I cut the title using my silhouette cameo and backed each letter with patterned paper from the 6×6 pad. Again I did a simple layering of various patterned papers from the 6×6 pad, adding some puffy stickers, a chipboard tag, and I cut out two of the cameras from Dear Lizzy – Saturday – Bright Light paper to use as part of my embellishments.
I also added a tag from Kelly Purkey – 3×4 Daily Life Stamp Set, and added the date.
I also added a pocket page with a few additions photographs taken on one of our metro journeys.
Using one of the cut apart sheets cards as an insert.
Added a title for the pages using the Dear Lizzy – Saturday – Puffy Thickers
And used my typewriters to add some journalling to one of journaling block from the Dear Lizzy – Saturday – Broadway Paper
Well that me for this month, I hope you like my layouts and give the lovely Dear Lizzy – Saturday collection a try, I glad I did.
Till next month
Happy scrapping
