Creating with Simple & Sweet
Hi Magpies, Hope you are all enjoying this fabulous weather we’re having & maybe doing a bit more scrapping with the world cup on?? But now England are doing well maybe not!!!…
Anyway I have 3 layouts to share with you today using the brand new collection from Pinkfresh Studio, Simple & sweet, a beautiful collection with fresh candy colours of orange, pink, lemon, mint & that beautiful cornflower blue that Pinkfresh are known for.
As soon as I saw the lemon paper I knew I’d be fussy cutting it & that I also had the perfect photo to use with it 🙂 I’ve recently come back from Sorrento, Italy & there are lemons growing EVERYWHERE!!! So obviously I took a few photos, or 7 or 8!!!
For my first layout ‘amazing memories’ I started by adding a bit of mixed media, using the packaging technique, to plain white cardstock & added a bit of gold texture paste. I then fussy cut the lemons out of the good things paper & some from the lemon lush paper & set about layering them up on the top of my page & spilling down, putting some on foam pads for dimension. I kept my photo plain, without any layers as I wanted to keep it simple. My title is from the gold puffy accent stickers & the puffy stickers & I slipped a few of those gorgeous gold puffy leaves under some of the lemons.
My second layout ‘Sweet & Lovely’ I used an old photo I found of my daugther. I just love this photo & the joy that comes from her face & thought it would be great to use with these papers.
I started by cutting a 12×3 inch strip & border punching the long edge, I added that to the middle of my page & then everything came off from that. I cut the striped paper out the 6×6 paper pad & added it top right & bottom left stitching around the edge. I circle punched some of the sentiments on the 6×6 papers & added strips of the 6×6 fresh air paper. I added a stitched frame to my main photo & a chipboard frame to the smaller one. I finished the page with a few epoxy stickers, ephemera & that cute little monkey that I found in my stash & thought he looked so cute hanging there.
My third layout ‘oh my heart’ I think, is my favourite, I just love all the texture & dimension on it.
I started by adding some mixed media on the background to some white cardstock & then starting from the top I added papers, zips, denim fabric & an abundance of embellishments around & under my photo. My title comes from those fab gold puffy accent stickers & I added frames & hearts from those too
I hope you have enjoyed seeing my layouts with this collection, until next time xoxo
