Creating A Scrapbook Layout By Repeating A Simple Shape | Arden Creative Studio | Emma Kate

Hey Magpies, taking inspiration from the Arden Creative Studio ‘Field Notes’ collection I went butterfly crazy with this page, beginning with punching out many butterflies from 5 patterned papers. I then faintly in pencil drew out some guidelines so that my butterflies would be evenly spaced.

I adhered the butterflies in two’s, one as a base completely flat, the other with just a small amount of glue at it’s centre so that I could lift up the wings. I made sure not to have two of the same colour next to each other, although a rainbow order of sorts would be fun.

I mounted my photo onto patterned paper so it would pop against the white background & to connect the colours to the butterflies, then placed it at the centre of my layout using foam tape. Then using the laser cut elements I embellished my photo.
