Crazy Fun! – PAIGE EVANS – WONDERS Part 2 – WENDY MEFFAN

Hi Magpies! It’s Wendy here on the blog again sharing two more layouts using the Wonders Collection by Paige Evans. I loved this collection and being so bright it has a real Summer feel to it. I especially loved Paper No 22 which I used on  one of my previous layouts but wanted to use the patterned squares again. I matched the  floral ephemera as best I could to the colours of the squares both vertically and horizontally.

I decided to use more of the ephemera but did smile at how large it all was! I realised I didn’t need much else on the page with it but needed to give it some more dimension so started sewing around the edges the flowers. I used chain stitch and blanket stitch and ordinary running stitch. It did become a labour of love but I couldn’t stop until each piece had some stitching on it!

As I added the butterflies and birds I sewed round them too!

Finally having finished all the sewing I matted the picture and placed it centrally on the layout and then added some alphabet thickers for the title, and a few puffy stickers at the top and bottom of the layout.

Layout 2  Right Now

For this layout I actually used the B side of Paper no 22 and fussy cut the envelopes with the flowers on them. I started with a mixed media background using distress oxides around the edges of the envelopes.

Then I cut up Papers 24 and 17 which were both cut apart sheets, I then chose pieces which had the right phrases for my photo. On the Oh So Happy piece I actually fussy cut out the rainbow and the added the chipboard rainbow over the top as it was the same size and it gave some dimension to the layout.

I distressed all the edges of each piece from the cut apart sheet, and positioned them under the envelopes.

I added the chipboard sticker frame around the photo and then added some stickers from the sticker book to embellish around it.

At the top of the layout I added the chipboard flower shapes and a sticker bird to fill up some of the white space and balance the layout.

To the right of the photo I added the cut apart Right Now piece and embellished with stickers and puffy stickers and some little gold hearts.

Finally I added some gold splatters.

I found this collection easy to use and also the layouts are all very different, there is so much to choose from and it all coordinates really well. make sure you pop over to the website and have a look at the whole collection and remember to post your layouts the Hey Little Magpie Chat and Inspiration Facebook Page.

Till next time …. Happy Scrapping!
