Crate Paper's Hello Love, it's not just for Valentines!
Hello Magpies, welcome to February! It’s Rachel here with the 1st of the month post. As I am in New Zealand for a few months, I nabbed the new collection from Crate Paper, Hello Love, as soon as it hit the store in December. I had to get myself organised to come down here, supplied to do my blog posts! And I was so excited to get the Hello Love collection, it’s right up my street. I do love the Crate Paper Valentines collections, they’re always beautiful with lovely colours and not just for Valentines LO’s, in fact, I did exactly the same post last year with the Kiss Kiss collection if you want to check it out here!
So I ordered everything in the Hello Love collection and was so thrilled to get that box of goodies I can tell you! Since I’m away I will be using this colletion again next month, and probably April as well. Thankfully, I love it to bits! Ass I’m writing this blog post and linking products, a few are out of stock right now but they have been re-ordered so hopefully things will be back in stock again soon. If you really have to have a product, definitely sign up for an email alert and when it’s back in stock, you’ll be the first to know. If you’re lucky enough to have already ordered and received your Hello Love products, then here’s some ideas on how to use it!
So on to my first LO. I went a little bit pretty with this one and added some doilies, which you can get in the shop, white ones here and here, and gorgeous gold ones (which I wish I had here in NZ with me cause they would go so well with the Hello Love collection!), here and here. I layered up a few different sheets of paper from the 6×6 Paper Pad under my photo, just to give little glimpses of the paterns. My title is using the gorgeous hello word from the Pink Paislee, Cedar Lane Thickers pack and some older Thickers from the Crate Paper Craft Market collection. I’ve embellished using little bits and bobs from the Hello Love Gold Foil Ephemera pack, one of the paper rosettes from the Glitter Delights pack and then I added some bits from the WRMK FUSEables Ephemera Pack because the colours worked perfectly, the arrow on the top of the photo is from that pack, along with the ‘so loved’ and ‘hey baby’ banners too. My last touch was some of the fabulous new Freckled Fawn Silver Puffy Hearts Stickers and one of the Hello Love, Gold Foil Resin Hearts which I just love and will have to try and use and not hoard forever!
My second LO is one of my favourites to do. I did one like this last April if you want a look at it here. I gather up some of the labels of stuff I am wearing now and plonk them on a LO! So that’s what I’ve done here. I used the awesome Blush paper and then placed my labels around a photo. I dotted around some of the Hello Love Glitter Heart Stickers, some other stickers from the Hello Love 6×12″ Accent Sticker sheet, another of the Gold Foil Resin Hearts. I added some of the Chipboard Stickers from the 12×12″ Gold Foil Chipboard Sticker sheet and then my title is using the word Life from an older set of Thickers which I think may have been Amy Tangerine, or Dear Lizzy but I can’t remember sorry. Also I used the fab Hello Love, Gold Foil Alphabet Thickers too. I am a little bit in love with those but they’re really hard to photograph well, they’re so shiny!
The next LO I did I used the black & white striped paper from the 12×12″ Hello Love Pad. I got the photo I wanted to use and the black XO tag from the Glitter Layered Tags pack and built my LO around them. There’s some fab tags in the pack as well, very pretty and good value for £4.99 I think. I layered up a few more bits and bobs from the Gold Foil Ephemera pack including the arrows, banner & label tags I used. There’s a lot in that Ephemera pack and it’s all cute! My title is using some old Thickers I had left here in NZ and the pink matched well, and also the Hello Love Gold Foil Thickers too. My last little touch was a Gold Puffy Heart Sticker from Freckled Fawn, these stickers are really good value for £3.99, you won’t run out in a hurry!
For my last LO, I did a sort of grid pattern with my photo and 3 rectangles of patterned paper. I really loved the marbled papers in the Hello Love collection, there’s a pink one called True Love and the green one came in the 12×12″ Pad. I really wanted to use more of the paper but I struggled and struggled and eventually went back to a white background and was happy lol! So I used the black & white striped paper and the green marbled from the pad. I’ve embellished with the XO balloons, arrow and 3 little hearts from the 12×12″ Gold Foil Chipboard sheet. My big ‘love’ word is from the Wood Veneer Shapes pack and it didn’t stand out enough for me in the raw wood state, so I coloured it in with a Sharpie marker. The Auckland word is using the Heidi Swapp, Puffy Glitter Alphabet in black. I’ve also added a line of Black Pearls from the £1 Range below.
I also did some Memorydex cards this month too. I lucked out in finding one of the older style Memorydex boxes in a hobby shop for £2.50 so I have something to store my cards in while I’m here in NZ! I started out making the top card and then decided I would so some, sort of resolutions on some other cards.
I made 5 cards in all and here they all are, laid out on a black background. I made my cards using the fabulous Memorydex 2 Hole Slot Punch and bought them to NZ with me, blank.
The first card I made was about embracing 2016. I didn’t have a great 2015 because of health reasons so I was glad to see the back of it and am hoping 2016 will be much better to me! The ‘love’ word is a sticker from the 6×12″ Accent Sticker sheet. I popped the little word stickers over the top of one of the hearts from the Glitter Heart Stickers sheet and again, used the Gold Foil Chipboard Alphabet Thickers
Listen more is one of my resolutions. Who doesn’t need to listen more right? I tend to get excited and start talking over the top of people so I made a card to remind me not to! I layered up some papers from the 6×6″ Paper Pad and then a frame from the Gold Foil Ephemera pack. I used some older Thickers and also some puffy alphabet stickers from Freckled Fawn Wish Season and then dotted on a couple of cork stars.
Another card I did was move more….. I mean who doesn’t need to move more eh! I covered my card with patterned paper from the 6×6″ Paper Pad and then lined the back of a slide frame from the 12×12″ Gold Foil Chipboard sheet with some other paper. I dug through the Thickers I had here in NZ and found the green ones would fit and then the Puffy Alphabet from Freckled Fawn was the perfect size to fit the word move where I wanted it. Love it when a plan comes together!
So that is what I have managed for this month with the fabulous Hello Love Collection from Crate Paper. You definitely don’t need to use this Valentines collection, just for lovey-dovey LO’s, I’ve used pictures of Auckland City and a bunch of clothing labels! Happy February everyone and I’ll be back with more from Hello Love next month as well.
